Things To Do Before I Die/2008 Resolutions Update
It's been a long time since I reviewed either the Things To Do Before I Die list or the 2008 Resolutions sublist. And seeing as we're heading into the last half of Post a Day month (and the last quarter of the year) I thought It might be good to do a quick check up.
I've updated the Things To Do Before I Die list with one more entry, and crossed off the make beer item. But apart from that there's nothing else I want to do to it at this point.
I haven't even looked at my resolutions list since brewing the beer with Mike, Stephan and Chris at the start of the year.
This is whats left:
Learn to bake bread and bread related products
I'm definitely going to try baking bread when we hit Summer and the weather gets warmer. Now that Noble Rise buggered up the good thing they had going It's time i took things into my own hands anyway.
Learn how to make my own sausages
Every year the Melbourne's Italian community get together to make their own sausages. Unfortunately I found out about this year's sausage making season two weeks after it ended. I did get to sample the wares, and loved them, so I'm going to put my hand up and see if I can be involved in next year's run.
Increase exercise to counteract the effects of a beer/sausage/bread diet
No bread or sausage glut and I still managed to remain tubby. It's probably got something to do with the muffin I have with my coffee every morning.
I have started a new health regime, but I think I'll leave the details for another post.
Finish writing my novel
I've struggled with the novel this year. It didn't help that I lost a large chunk of it when I lost my USB stick and didn't backup the data. The Collabowrite project has taken up much of my writing time. but it makes for good practice when I want to try the long-form again.
Get at least two short stories published
That leads us on to this next point. Confederate States of Australia hasn't been professionally published or included in any anthology, but it has been published on the internet. That sort of counts. Doesn't it?
Mike and I will start writing the second soon.
Learn more Italian
I bought an Italian phrase book a few weeks ago. I do still struggle to communicate with Ange and her friends in Italian, but I think thats got more to do with their laid back approach to pronunciation than anything I'm doing wrong.

The only thing currently on my "before I die" list is "write my 'before I die' list".
Oh yes, and do grab the Pimsleur stuff for Italian. You can do it in the car or anywhere you don't mind sounded like a parrot.
